MXR Postcard1 (1)

Michael X. Rose’s new group of oil paintings wrestle with Mortality and Nature, Man’s place in the world and his precarious relationship with it. Concurrently, there is ongoing epic battle that witnesses the Rise and Fall of Civilizations. While reflecting on Nature’s unforgiving relentless march, Rose extends that visual experiment to include conflict between peoples and their ideologies.

Michael X. Rose has a farmhouse and art studio in Bruynswick, NY where he lives with his wife and eight children. He earned a BFA at Pratt Institute, MFA Queens College , MAAS SUNY New Paltz. His work has been show extensively in the Hudson Valley including the Dorsky Museum and KMOCA. In addition he has exhibited frequently in NYC as well as Germany with the Burkhard Eikelmann Galerie and England with PegPowler Gallery.

Richard Deon

BrowardOpeningCircus-size installations of paintings, banners, prints, and sculptures leave clues about far-fetched stories, and less than believable presentations. Civic-minded characters from another era illustrate a kind of social surrealism. Each new “Paradox & Conformity” exhibition is a chapter from an imaginary textbook that continues without end.

The work of Richard Deon has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries in the United States and in Europe, including the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Sedalia, Missouri; the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, New York; the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, State University of New York at New Paltz; the Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport, Connecticut; and the Katonah Museum of Art in Katonah, New York; and CCC Strozzina at the Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, Italy.
